Professional Printing Studio
Smack dab in the middle of the 16th district in a former Viennese tavern you’ll find the fully equipped silkscreen and textile printing workshop FabricFabrik. Here contemporary design is printed on a range of different materials following old handcraft traditions. The workshop should serve as an open atelier for artists and designers, a space of “creative dialogue”.
Behind the label FabricFabrik – founded in 2013 – is the Salzburg native Stephanie Klaura. Besides the artist’s own fabric collections, which are produced exclusively with sustainable materials, the label is specialized in customized designs for its clients. It offers printing solutions for a wide range of carrier materials, from floor coatings and ceiling finishes to leather, wood, and glass.
The atelier is equipped with a professional printing studio including a high-tech exposure room, numerous different-sized silkscreens, and the centerpiece of the company, the ten-meter-long, self-designed-and-built pattern repeat printing table with a special printing carriage. With this apparatus she can implement many facets of silkscreening and hand printing on virtually all textiles. Stephanie Klaura has already printed large-scale wood panels, leatherware, and complete floor surfaces with the table.
Austrian fashion labels such as Rosa Mosa, Gebrüder Stitch, or Natures of Conflict also count among the FabricFabrik client base. Stephanie Klaura also offers regular workshops on textile design and pattern repeat silkscreening in her studio, for beginners or advanced.
