The "Lounge Bar" in Margareten
The cozy student pub is located a mere five-minute walk from the U4 Pilgramgasse subway station. The motley interior with sofas and proliferating plants is relaxed, the big outdoor garden urban, and the food very affordable and still delicious.
The pub in the former Huber tool shop in the 5th district was born in 2006 from a temporary usage initiative of Vienna University of Technology under the guidance of the legendary “urban interventionist” and architect Peter Fattinger. Somehow the place still breathes its past. The pub is now run by Manfred Wuits, responsible for the program, and Zeljko Jovanovic, the chef de cuisine.
