open air cinema
The moment has arrived again! In cooperation with the Viennale the Film archive Austria are presenting legendary film classics and exciting premiers in the open air. There will be evergreens, the newest movies and old-style analog 35mm cinematics.
Honoring the 30th anniversary of death of Helmut Qualtinger some of his famous films will be shown such as the German crime movies "Kurzer Prozess", "Mann im Schatten" or the monastery thriller "The Name of the Rose".
Another special will be the legendary movie classics from Hollywood legend Olivia de Havilland (turning 100 this year): "A Midnights Dream", "Gone with the Wind" or "Hush..Hush, Sweet Charlotte".
“Attention Musikfans!”
"Kino wie noch nie" shows a Rolling Stones film-special from concerts and backstage coverage. Also a documentary of Kurt Cobain, Cobain: Montage of Heck and the kind-of-autobiography of Prince, Purple Rain.
Apart from that more recent films will also be presented, such as "24 Weeks", "Deckname Holec" or "Wild" which all premiered at the Viennale.
