The C/O Vienna Magazine editorial team agrees: Skopik & Lohn in the 2nd district is one of the most elegant restaurants in Vienna. Elegant because the guest – as we know it from bistros in Paris and New York – is served, cooked for, or exposed to music with a wonderful understatement. No fuss, no overpricing, no unwanted amuse-gueule, only attentive waitresses (liveried!) and an urban, cozy ambience with an extravagant ceiling painting by artist Otto Zitko.
The slightly Austrian menu with a touch of French and Italian cuisine is creative and very tasty. The wines are the best.
We thank all the gods that the always stately and polite boss Horst Scheuer didn’t open a place in New York, as planned, but in Vienna.
From March to November the garden is open.
