Its interior might remind you a bit of a small snack bar, but Vietthao near the opera scores big with its delicious food. The friendly staff pampers you with authentic Vietnamese cuisine.
Ngyuyen Huu Phuoc is the loveable host and waiter with a big organizational talent. His charming conversations in Vietnamese-Tyrolean-Viennese accent will surely tide you over the occasionally longer waiting times, and he always takes the best care of his guests. His wife Thi Hong Thuy masters the preparation of delicious, authentic Vietnamese dishes all by herself as it would seem. Always fresh, that’s understood.
As Vietthao has now advanced to the ranks of a hotspot simply by word of mouth, it is highly recommended to reserve a table in advance. There are rarely seats for spontaneous visits.
By the way, only a few meters walking distance away are the Secession, Musikverein Wien, and Stadtkino im Künstlerhaus. Also the nearby Naschmarkt is a tip for a postprandial stroll.
