funk-homage in a fresh outfit
Noa Ben-Gur aka Playing Savage is the newcomer in the Viennese music scene. In 2015 this glamorous funk-rock diva won the Amadeus Austrian Music Award for the song Leya in the category best songwriter of the year. The release of her debut album Wild, that she made with Wanda-Producer Paul Gallister, will be on the 15th October in the F23, the former Sargfabrik.
Noa Ben-Gur was born in Israel, grew up in Brooklyn and originally had a classical music education. A couple of years ago she came to Vienna, but not to stay. The soul diva - sometimes also compared with Amy Winehouse - actually wanted to move back to New York and she 'already had a return ticket in per pocket', she told us in an interview.
But then things started happening really fast: last year she won – with musician colleagues Lukas Hillebrand, Alex Pohn and Thorsteinn Einarsson – the Amadeus Austrian Music Award for the song Leya in the category best songwriter of the year, followied by the album Bigger at Seayou Records with Wanda manager Stefan Redelsteiner and producer Paul Gallister.
A voice like Scottish Whiskey: smoky, diverse and with a real punch!
Now Playing Savage are releasing their newest album WILD with Seayou Records on October 15th in a release concert. One things for sure: the C/O Vienna office is not going to miss that! See you there!
